The Stone, too, has a soul

Тhe most translated poem from my book "The rainbow of the genesis"
Тhis song has been translated into 11 languages.
Translated from Macedonian into English: Elena Prendjova, M.A.

The Stone, too, has a soul
The gargling of the stream is heard,
the song of the birds, too,
and the sound of the autumn waves,
but have you heard
that it also talks and feels?
Have you heard that the stone has a soul as well?
If it were as soulless as it seems,
it wouldn’t have let the roamer rest on it
or the wind to blow it,
not even the grass to rot under it
or the Sun with its colour to misfit.
Somewhere deep inside of it
love and warmth hide,
deep inside its pores
a thousand stories sleep.
I communicate with the stone,
I watch it and giggle in my thoughts,
if the stone had no soul,
my verses dedicated to it would have been false.
